Rui L. Reis, the scientist that is Director of the 3B´s Research Group and of the ICVS/3B´s Associate Laboratory of the University of Minho, has just received in Dublin the prestigious George Winter Award. This is the major recognition and career senior award given by the European Society for Biomaterials (ESB, www.esbiomaterials.eu). This award is established to recognise, encourage and stimulate outstanding research contributions to the field of biomaterials by a senior well established scientist. It is presented annually during the Biomaterials conference of the Society, this year held in Dublin. It is considered almost unanimously the major award in Europe in the field of biomaterials research. Rui L. Reis is only the second researcher of all times to receive both majors awards of the ESB (after receiving the young researcher award - the Jean Leray in Barcelona in 2002). He is also the second one to receive this major senior award being less than 45 years old in the 24 years of existence of the award. More details on the CV of Rui L.
