Background

I hold an Integrated Master’s degree in Biological Engineering from Instituto Superior Técnico, Portugal and a PhD in Medicine in collaboration with the International Iberian Nanotechnology Laboratory from Swansea University Medical School, UK. My research interests include unraveling of mechanisms of disease progression and developing novel technologies and methodologies to assist medical decision. I have acquired skills in cleanroom microfabrication techniques and development of biosensing and microfluidic platforms. I have published articles in the fields of Cancer, Reproductive Medicine and Neuroscience. Currently, I am developing microfluidic models to study cancer dissemination.
