The purpose of the privacy policy is to inform the users how we collect and process personal data and what are the rights required by law in terms of EU Data Protection Regulation (EU) 2016/679 of the European Parliament and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (GDPR)

The Research Institute on Biomaterials, Biodegradables and Biomimetics of University of Minho (I3Bs) respect your privacy rights and do not collect any personal data about you without your consent. Any personal data that you provide us it will be collected and processed following the security policy and confidentiality required by GDPR

Data collect and Processing

The personal data collected from the user it will be processed and stored on a specific database. The registration of the user on I3Bs information system is the minimum requirement to the user accomplish its mission as I3Bs member, dissemination of results, events participation, communicate with other members, process help information requests, claims and suggestions, analysis and statistics and personal user cards processing.

The personal data used on I3Bs research activities and services are provided by the user through paper forms or informatic systems.

The I3Bs could also use the personal data to carry out surveys of the quality of services provided or user satisfaction, to fulfill requirements under the quality policy and in the exercise and monitoring of the services provided.

The data responsible on I3Bs

The I3Bs are the entity responsible for the processing of personal data, within the scope of the activities and services indicated in the previous points. The User may contact I3Bs for any question related to the protection of their personal data, through the e-mail sec@i3bs.uminho.pt.

Data Transmission

I3Bs will not communicate the User's personal data to entities external to University of Minho.

Security policy

The I3Bs, within the framework of I3B's datacenter policies and procedures, have implemented adequate security measures to protect the User's personal data against destruction, loss, alteration, dissemination, unauthorized access or any other form of treatment accidental or unlawful.

Data Retention

The User personal data will be kept during the period of validity of its registration defined and managed by I3Bs. After registration is deactivated, the I3Bs may still maintain them for statistical purposes, knowledge base and future actions related to I3Bs activities.

User Legal Rights

The User as the owner of personal data, has the right to request access to personal data concerning him or her, rectification of personal data that is inaccurate or incomplete, removal of personal data, total or partial limitation of treatment of the personal data, the right to claim against to the personal data processing and the right to portability of the personal data, using the following email: info@i3bs.uminho.pt Whenever the User considers that I3Bs has violated its rights under the applicable data protection law, it may submit a complaint to the competent control authority (National Data Protection Commission).

I3Bs websites may use cookies, and their scope is defined in the cookie policy described below. Only technical information regarding visits to websites maintained by i3Bs is registered on our servers and no information that may be used to identify visitors to the site is collected.
