This prestigious recognition by Forbes Portugal highlights the 30 most brilliant game-changers under 30 years old, who are revolutionizing business and transforming the world in bold and creative ways. Forbes is one of the most influential and recognized business media brands globally, known for its comprehensive coverage of business, investment, technology, entrepreneurship, and its renowned rankings such as the Forbes 400, Forbes Global 2000, and Forbes 30 Under 30.

The list acknowledges young and emerging individuals from a variety of fields, including sports, social media, business, economy, healthcare, science, education, and more.

Carlos Guimarães has been honored in this list for his significant contributions to the efforts of the 3B´s Research group for the creation of complex and miniaturized models of human healthy and diseased tissues. This work, supervised by Prof. Rui L. Reis, enables faster and more personalized discovery of therapies for major health challenges, such as cancer. A particularly notable technology developed by Carlos is that of  Living Optical Fibers.
